The theme for the Girl of Purpose indoor event was “Self-Awareness”. Self-awareness may be defined as having a clear perception of your personality, including strengths, weaknesses, thoughts, beliefs, motivation, and emotions. Self-awareness allows you to understand other people, how they perceive you, your attitude and your responses to them at the moment.
Self-awareness in itself should, therefore, be used as a significant instrument by A Girl of Purpose because it enables her to understand herself. One’s personality, in essence, shapes personal vision, goal, and purpose in life. Leading a purposeful life is a desirable aspect of a human being. It is an essential path for an individual and this is desirable at a personal level as well as at the community level.
Where there exist strengths and weaknesses of a being, there also exists an opportunity on one side. When a girl uses her strength more appropriately, when she is supported to do this, the gains are a multitude. The lesson here is, when a girl is supported to discover her purpose and she is supported, mentored and deployed to serve the community, the benefits are seen in the welfare of the family and this makes the family stronger. A stronger family is a source of strength to nation-building. On the other hand, having some weaknesses in life means nothing other than growing your ability and motivation to find solutions or overcome the weaknesses and emerge victorious by doing what is right.
Positivity about yourself (A Girl of Purpose) strengthens your thoughts, attitude, aspirations, dreams, and purpose. In the final analysis, A Girl of Purpose should aim high. She should value herself because she is precious, she should not allow herself to be influenced by the worldly things but instead she is supposed to influence the world positively, she should not become a victim of addiction (addiction to drugs, alcohol and sex and other harmful habits such as pornography), she should embrace positive mindset and this enriches her role in community development and nation-building.
A Girl of Purpose should put all efforts to ensure that history does not judge her wrongly, but rather create a correct history and legacy about herself.
